A. We will make your appointment as quickly as possible, this is usually within 4 weeks of our receiving instruction, however if a specialist is required, or an appointment is needed in a sparsely populated area this may take longer.
A. For a standard GP we endeavour to get an appointment within 10 miles of your address, and if a consultant is needed we endeavour to appoint within 20 miles.
A. If the appointment is not convenient or you cannot attend please contact us immediately on 0330 0990444 or email info@mobiledoctors.co.uk and we will rearrange the appointment for you.
A. No, we will pay the examiner and be paid in return by your solicitor, however if you do not attend the appointment and fail to let us know beforehand you may be charged a non-attendance fee.
A. Typically appointments last about half an hour but may be quicker.
A. The examiner compiles a report which is sent back to us. The report will be verified and sent on to your solicitors who will then contact you to advise you on the next steps. If further reports or examinations are needed we can organise these.
A. Yes, bring a form of photographic ID with you e.g. passport / photographic driving licence. Where no Photo ID is available, another form of ID would be suitable e.g. utility bill or copy of the MDL appointment letter/email.
A. The medical expert will provide a medical report detailing the injuries you sustained in your accident (or as a result of negligent medical treatment) and an opinion on how long it took or will take to recover. Without this report, your representative cannot pursue your claim.
A. Either we or the expert will contact you by telephone or letter to confirm the time, date and venue for the appointment.
A. Your case will then be delayed and non-attendance may result in a fee which you may be personally liable for.
A. You will be asked to provide Photo ID, or alternative proof of Identity, please check the details in your appointment letter. The expert will ask lots of questions about ~ How the accident occurred ~ How your symptoms and injuries developed ~ How your recovery progressed ~ Date and details of any medical treatment ~ How this affected your work life (time off), home life or leisure activities ~ Any extra help you needed as a result of your injuries. You may also be physically examined if appropriate. The expert may dictate his report as the examination progresses or may instead take notes.
